A busy week at the Farm…

On Saturday night our goat Ivory went into labor, she was due on November 6th so she was a little early. Little Autumn Rose was born Oct 25, 2009 at 4:15 AM. She is a cutie pie! White with black on her face and feet. She is a pretty active little goat for being early but just couldn’t nurse on her Mom. We ended up milking her Mom and giving her bottles for a couple of days, now she is nursing fine. Here is a picture of her at 15 minutes old!

On Monday everyone came down to see the new baby goat and have a family dinner. Tracy & Jack visited with us. Sara and Matt, Tracy and Dad all enjoyed the Chinese food I fixed and the delicious cake from Jeneva’s Cakes in Prince Frederick. I was happy to find this bakery when we moved to Calvert County. I walked into the shop and walked out with this beautiful cake for our dinner! Thank you to the very nice lady who iced and decorated it in record time, I was impressed.
The gang loved the cake, and believe me when I say this crowd is cake consiours after all the Sugarbakers and The Cakery cakes we have grown to love! Stop by and check them out!

We are getting ready for winter here at the farm. We have our black goat, Ebony still due on November 6th. Our Great Pyrameese, Tobi is due on Nov 15th. I am hoping she has a small litter.
There is alway lots to do at the farm with feeding and taking care of the farm and animals. There is no resting here, LOL
The pond is almost finished and ready for fish!

Since moving here to Calvert County, Jim and I are known to attend the auctions at the Chesapeake Auction & Marketplace. Just ask our kids! We refer to it as our date night. The Marketplace and Auction house can be found just off Calvert Beach Road in St. Leonard, Maryland. It’s just a couple of minutes from our house. We’ve gotten some wonderful items from the auctions at terrific bargin prices, just check out some of the pictures of our bargins here.
We’ve gotten some really neat pieces from the auctions, Sara and Matthew are starting to catch on and have been known to even hang out with Mom and Dad there. (Sara and Matt are looking for apartment furniture!) It’s a fun place and the people who work there are really nice. We’ve also meet a lot of new people that way! It’s fun to have the Victorian style house to decorate. The people there must think we are crazy for some of the stuff we bid on, as our taste can be eclectic at times! The shops in the Market Place have a wonderful variety of antiques and collectables. The book shop is fun, brings me back to my days working in the library. We shop for stuff that we like and makes us happy. (I would tell everyone about our beautiful tanning bed that we got at the auction for $100.00 but you would all be over here tanning all the time! LOL.) We are having fun and if your trying to find us on a Friday night that’s where we will be. Kay and Larry’s daughter, Nicole runs a Gourmet Snack Bar there and is an excellent cook. ( The only place I’ve had Tuna Pasta Salad made like Nana’s.) We look forward to our dinners there. Hats off to Nicole for taking so much pride in her cooking!

A Beautiful Day for Mr. & Mrs. Marshall

The Blogging Bride is Married!
We thought the day would never get here then all of the sudden it was here! All the planning gave way to a picture perfect weekend on the Eastern Shore. The weather was made to order for an outdoor wedding. The guys enjoyed playing golf and shooting clay pigeons before the big event. The rehersal dinner was lovely, with everyone enjoying the delicious food and perfect setting. The young folk continued on after the dinner to the Aspen Wye River to hang out and blow off a little steam. Last time I saw them they were checking out farms, LOL. We older folks turned in to get ready for the big day ahead.
The next morning Jim and I woke up to Tracy crawling in bed with us for one last time. Tracy had gotten some pictures blown up and framed of us with her when she was just a month or two old, when we walked into our rooms at the inn there they were! Talk about kleenex time! But Tracy thought of that too, she had hankies made for Jim and I that said” I carry your heart in my heart. ” Needless to say it was a true magic moment for the three of us. We went down to a lovely breakfast made by Anne Marie and the guys went off shooting. We soon set up our Bridal luncheon with the help of the wonderful B & B ladies and Maid Of Honor, Sara! We broke out the bubbly and soon got started on more serious stuff, hair and makeup!!!! The afternoon flew by and soon it was time to get dressed. At three the Grandparents and Godparents came to watch Tracy put on her gown. Wow, she made one beautiful bride!!!!!
Everyone looked beautiful for the wedding the bridsmaids and flowergirls and our litle ring bearer Andrew, who so wanted to get down the aisle to get that lollypop!
The ceremony was lovely and before you know it it was time for the reception. John and Tracy went off in a beautiful horse and carriage for pictures. Everyone else headed for the reception except for the bridal party, getting those last pictures! The cocktail hour was in full swing by the time we got there. Everyone headed into the reception to wait for the bridal party to arrive. Finally they John and Tracy appeared looking so ready to get the party started! The band was wonderful and everyone raved and danced the night away! Tracy and John seemed to have the most fun of all. Their first dance as husband and wife was impressive and all of their dance classes certainly paid off! From then on the dance floor was packed! Here is a picture of the happy couple!
The night ended too soon, everything seemed to go bye in fast motion! Here are a few more pictures!
Congratulations
Mr. & Mrs Marshall!!!!
We love you!
Matt’s New Car
May 12, 2008 at 8:27 am (Pictures, Refections)
This weekend Matt sold his car and got another one. (Much to our dismay.) It is a beautiful car, but a little to fast for Mom and Dad’s liking. Big decisions, mean big responsibility now that Matt is working full time and not in school anymore, he’s into the new world of paying for everything himself. The cost of his of auto insurance should slow him down a bit. I swear the car looks like one of those Hot Wheel cars he use to play with when he was little! Tracy’s first word was DaDa, Sara said MaMa and Matt said CAR! It has always been that way. Just remember Matt, we love you and want you to drive safe!
